Function Of Straight Edge

Application Notes
When the hoop stress is , compressive stress will begin to appear in the transition zone of the elliptical head. If the ratio of the major axis to the minor axis continues to increase, the compressive stress value at the edge of the transition zone of the elliptical head will increase rapidly, that is, the shallower the head, the higher the compressive stress value at the edge of the head. Therefore, it is more reasonable to limit the ratio of the major axis to the minor axis of the elliptical head to within 2.6. In addition to meeting the strength requirements, the thickness of the head should also meet the elastic instability under internal pressure due to the compressive stress in the transition zone of the head for large diameter and thin wall elliptical heads. Therefore, Dalian Dingjin pay more attention to the thickness of the elliptical head which should also meet the stiffness requirements.
