Definition
A stainless steel round cap is a type of stainless steel pipe cap. Butt-welded caps are mainly used to seal the ends of pipelines and perform a function similar to that of pipe plugs. Butt-welded caps are available in various shapes, including convex, conical shell, reducer, flat head, and reduced section types.

Applicable Standard
Internationally used pipe flange standards can generally be classified into two different and non-interchangeable flange systems: one is the European pipe flange system, primarily represented by Germany; the other is the American pipe flange system, primarily represented by the United States. In addition, there is the Japanese JIS flange system, which is mainly used in domestic projects in the petrochemical industry and has relatively limited international influence. Difference Between End Caps and Dish Heads
1. Size
Stainless steel pipe caps are mainly used as closures for pipes. When the nominal diameter (DN) exceeds 300, they are generally replaced by dish heads. If they are subjected to pressure, strength verification must be performed. Stainless steel dish heads are larger in size and are usually designed based on the inner diameter. The height of the straight edge is also greater than that of stainless steel pipe caps.
2. Processing Method
Because pipe caps are relatively small in size, they can be manufactured by forging. Stainless steel dish heads, however, are much larger and are generally formed by pressing steel plates.
3. Location
Pipe caps are installed at the ends of pipes, whereas stainless steel dish heads are installed at the upper and lower ends of pressure vessels or at the left and right ends of horizontal pressure vessels.
4. Application
Due to their excellent performance advantages, stainless steel dish heads are widely used in industries such as power generation, nuclear energy, energy, metallurgy, and machinery. As important pressure vessel components, stainless steel dish heads play a critical role in petrochemical, nuclear energy, and other industries, including food processing. In contrast, end caps are mainly used for sealing piping systems.
