Tank Dished Ends

The dished end is a component of a vessel that is connected to the cylinder by welding. Depending on their geometric shapes, tank dished ends can be classified into spherical, elliptical, torispherical, conical, and flat types. Among these, spherical, elliptical, dished, and torispherical heads are collectively referred to as convex dished ends.

Welding methods include butt-welded and socket-welded dish heads. Dalian Dingjin General Machinery Co., Ltd. fabricates only butt-welded types. These dished ends are used in various types of container equipment, such as heat exchangers, storage tanks, reactors, boilers, towers, and separation devices.

Available materials include carbon steel (A3, 20#, SA516, SA612, Q235, Q345, 16Mn, etc.), stainless steel (304, 321, 304L, 316, 316L, etc.), alloy steel (15Mo3, 15CrMoV, 35CrMoV, 45CrMo), as well as copper, aluminum, titanium, nickel, and nickel alloys.

At Dingjin, for raw materials other than carbon steel, it is forbidden to perform hard stamping on the corrosion-resistant surface to mark material identification or welder information. In addition, marking for titanium and titanium-clad steel plates must comply with JB/T 4745.

The base plate thickness of each Dingjin's tank dished ends should be selected with consideration for reduction during forming, in order to ensure that the measured minimum thickness after forming meets the requirements of standard 6.3.13 as well as customers. Dingjin pay more attention to preparation of raw materials and subsequent forming processes in order to avoid any mechanical damage to the plate surface.

At Dingjin, the grinding depth will not exceed 5% of the plate thickness or more than 2 mm at any single location for aluminum and titanium dished ends,. If the grinding depth exceeds this limit, welding repairs approved by customers will be carried out, followed by necessary inspections in accordance with relevant standards. Any defects on the edge after blank cutting will be ground to ensure the quality of the tank dished ends.
